Path of Exile Item Upgrading
Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment using new attachments. They can also improve the base stats of the item or provide additional benefits. To upgrade an item, the player needs to have it in their inventory and have access to the kiln.
Items with weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into a stronger base. Items with bases that are strong, such as Titans from eth, have no change in their stats.
Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They provide an attribute benefit, or additional effect, when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, found in loot, dropped by enemies or as a reward from missions or chests. Certain upgrades come with additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a specific level to upgrade.
In order to upgrade an item of armor, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview of the expected upgrade stats and the required component or materials.
There are three kinds of upgrade components including universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, like gems, can be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lesser bonus than upgrade components that are subject to a type limitation. Infusions are gems that are only available in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, but cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example, adding the suffix Glyph will transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.
If a player upgrades a gathering tool and replaces the glyphs with a different one the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, excluding inscribed glyphs that can be swapped.
Leveling
Path of Exile's upgrade system is different from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now classified into tracks, and each item can be upgraded as many times before it is "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.
If an item is finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving a new set of upgrade components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails, or increases if the upgrade succeeds.
Once a piece of gear is upgraded to its maximum level it is able to be given affixes that boost its attributes. The number of affixes available will depend on the type of item it is. For example, an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.
Each upgrade step will require an amount of Flightstones and crests to complete depending on the current level of the item and the slot it's in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.
If an item is not able to get to its maximum level, the NPC will give the player the option of transfer it to a different person and then re-infuse the item with an upgrade set that is different. This procedure can take as long as two hours and cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.
To determine the height of a building, engineers will use a level to compare the measurement to an established reference point such as a benchmark or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method helps ensure that buildings are constructed to a high standard of accuracy and safety.
Rerolling
Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is a crucial aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. This can be accomplished through the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling items can be costly and should be used sparingly.
Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items come with an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item determines the amount of level filled.
In the past, certain upgrade items had priority affixes that made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build more often than others. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and duration reduction stats that are controlled or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.
This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chances of rolling for all stats. This can be good or bad, depending on what you're looking for and want from your equipment.
Each upgraded item can also come with a bonus that increases the power of the item by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are added to normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.
The game also includes various sets which grant a set bonus when three or more upgraded items from the same set are placed on the same unit. This is a great way to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.
Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear particularly in the beginning stages. Rerolling can provide a much faster path to a powerful character and allows them to climb higher levels and progress in the game more quickly.
Sets
Sets are collections of elements that can be organized in different ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used for organizing data or sorting information. They also aid in analysing patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.
The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading, while others aren't. Upgrades are worth it for armor sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less appealing to upgrade if you already have a lot of armor or weapons already.
Set items can be upgraded to include unique tools that are suitable for certain builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements also increased).
Upgrades can also be done to bring certain items up to parity with the tiers. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging between 29 and 76. Upgrades to lower-level items of the set can boost their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.
Clicking the Upgrade button will display the item's attributes and the items required to upgrade it. item upgrader will show the item's attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For instance, the No-mouth Face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials and 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Players can also verify the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor or Leaderboard.
Generally speaking the jewelry and weapons have greater value for trading when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have weapons-damage or spell glyphs. This will bring about a significant improvement in their stats. This will also increase the defense value of armor that has an updated look.
